Rebecca Alvarez Story is an award-winning entrepreneur, sexologist and intimate product developer.

About Rebecca

Rebecca believes the key to unlocking satisfying intimacy starts with unlearning bad sex ed. Cultural norms of not talking about sexual wellness along with abstinence-only sex ed in school left her frustrated and motivated to change things in her community.

As a nationally sought-after sexologist and entrepreneur, she is now helping to normalize sexual wellness in the US and Mexico by creating accessible, clean intimacy products and inclusive content with Bloomi. Rebecca is one of the few Latinas in the US to raise over $1M in venture capital and in 2022, Bloomi became the first Latina-led brand to launch in the sexual wellness aisle in over 1200 Target stores nationwide.

As a mom of two daughters, a life partner to Matt Story, Rebecca also prioritizes family-time and believes it is critical for couples and families to be able to have open conversations about the body. A pioneer in the space and Bay-Area native, Rebecca graduated from UC Berkeley with a major in sexual wellness that she created and holds a Master’s in Sexuality Studies.

Rebecca has been featured and contributes to publications including Forbes, Well+Good, Parents Latina, Byrdie, Refinery29, Elite Daily, BeLatina, mitú and more. She has been named a Changemaker by Well+Good and Forbes’ Next 1000.  As a proud daughter of Latine immigrants, Rebecca also focuses on diversity initiatives that elevate other BIPOC in entrepreneurship.
